Hannah Montana from a child's eye

ArizonaMoms's picture

I brought with me Miss Julia, age 7, to the Hannah Montana concert. I wanted to get the target demographic's point of view. Lots of screams - or should I say shrieks of joy. But I also wanted a critical look. Julia is getting good at saying what she likes and doesn't.

We didn't know where we were going to sit with our review seats. It happened to be on the floor. There were plenty of young girls with floor seats. The only problem - and really this was for their moms who had to carry the not-so-light little ones- is they couldn't stand on their chairs to see. That was disappointing to Julia.

She watched knowing just a few of the Jonas Brothers songs. She's now a fan. She liked the way they were really into their music - lots of energy, she said.

As for Hannah's part. She liked it, but didn't squeal in delight until the popular tunes from the first album played. Eyes were glued to the stage on "I Got Nerve." Her only problem was getting a good view, and she thought the music was too loud. That I blame on me; I should have brought her some ear plugs.

She liked Miley's set better. So many more fireworks, she noted. Very cool. But she was disappointed her favorite song from Miley, "As I Am," wasn't among the eight Miley songs played.

The best part of the show: Obviously that was when both the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana were on stage for the little number, "We Got the Party." The production was fun and exciting, Julia said. And it was. Plus, Miley's colorful outfit (neon green top with a black and bright yellow skirt) caught Julia's eye. Julia loves bold color combinations.

Julia Carr's rating: 5 stars - A must see for girls.
