Seems this time of year, the sound of sniffles is as common as the Salvation Army bells.
As a mom, you just hope your kid doesn't get a cold, flu or something worse. There are too many busy days - work, entertaining, shopping.
Of course, when you hope they don't get sick is when they get sick. My daughter is missing her school field trip today. She really wanted to go. But she woke with a sour stomach, so she couldn't go. She's sad about it. She even tried to act like she wasn't sick, but you could see it in her face. The teacher would know, too. And I don't want to be the bad mommy sending her in and acting surprised when I would get the call around noon.
But she's happy now. She's watching a holiday movie and has almost forgotten the field trip.
