FRIDAY, MAY 9

Disney's Mulan Jr.: Travel back to ancient China. The Huns have invaded, and it's up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick, Mushu, to save the emperor. SATURDAY, MAY 10

Rendezvous With a Comet: Visitors become crew members on a simulated space-flight mission. Crew members take part in a trek through space and will undertake a scientific mission to the Comet Encke. Takes place 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturdays. Not recommended for second-graders and under. Third- and fourth- graders must be with an adult. Reservations required. Challenger Space Center, 21170 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria. $17.50; $15 students.

Phoenix Zoo: Take a stroll and check out the lions, tigers and monkeys. Plus today, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the Moms enjoy Bashas' continental breakfast in the Stone House Pavilion and receive a flower during the Mother's Day celebration. Breakfast begins at 9 a.m. Phoenix Zoo, 455 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix. FREE admission for moms with one paid child admission. Admission is $6-14, members are free.

MONDAY, MAY 12

Puppet Show: What's Bugging You? 3:30 p.m. The show uses bug characters from Eric Carle books to explain feelings. Hollyhock Branch Library, 15844 N. Hollyhock St., Surprise. FREE.

The show goes to libraries in Sun Lakes and Guadalupe on May 14 and Gilbert on May 16.More details here.

TUESDAY, MAY 13

Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum See more than 3,000 minerals, fossils, rocks and mining artifacts on display, including an eight-foot specimen of native copper and a 480-pound quartz geode. WEDNESDAY, MAY 14

The Three Billy Goats Gruff: Before the goats can cross the bridge, they must outwit a hungry troll. Runs April 23 through May 25. 10 a.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Great Arizona Puppet Theater, 302 W. Latham St., Phoenix. $8; $6 for kids.

Arizona Science Center: Your kids won't find any "Don't touch!" signs here. There are more than 300 exhibits that encourage exploration and discovery. Rotating exhibits mean there's something new at the science center on every visit. Located at 600 E. Washington St., Phoenix.

FRIDAY, MAY 16

Peter Pan Ballet Etudes performs the classic fairy tale about the adventures of Peter Pan and his friends in Neverland. Shows are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday May 16-18. Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St., Mesa. $15-$30.
