One thing Marvel's super heroes are not used to is being licked, especially by attendees at the Phoenix Cactus Comicon this Saturday in Mesa.
The Mesa Post Office is unveiling Marvel Comics Super Heroes commemorative stamps at the Mesa Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where they will also offer a free special collectible postmark.
For comic junkies, it's an opportunity to collect hero favorites old and new such as Captain America, Elektra, Iron Man, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Sub-Mariner, The Incredible Hulk, The Thing and Wolverine on 20-stamp sheets.
The creator of this year's postmark, local artist Keith O'Brien, will sign autographs at the USPS booth. O'Brien has created the "Cactus Man" character with a light saber for the event, which will be applied to any package, envelope or card bearing a Marvel Comics Super Heroes stamp.
The Post Office booth will also be selling matted artwork of the comic's super hero stamps as well as stamp-related merchandise.
