As Mother's Day approaches, I asked a group of Gilbert men, "Why are you in awe of your wife?" The responses varied, sometimes serious and sometimes comical, but it's pretty obvious that these men are overwhelmingly grateful for the mother of their children.
"Erin does a heroic job of feeding us the most nourishing stuff on the planet. She spends way too much time researching, grocery shopping and cooking. I'd be feeding our two kids Hot Pockets and corn dogs without her loving care and hard work." - Ben Porter about wife, Erin.
"Where do I start? I'm most in awe of the way she manages the kids - dental and medical appointments, sports practice and games, pickup/dropoff for school, homework and chores, menus for dinners, all the grocery shopping and the household budget and finances. And she runs a business at the same time! I could never keep up with all that!!" - Kenneth Britton about wife, Allison.
"First, she is the mother of four and is still smoking hot. Second, I am in awe of how she keeps everything together. Along with taking care of our four crazy girls, she teaches piano to six kids from the neighborhood, baby-sits two other kids from the neighborhood two times per week, volunteers at the elementary school about once a week, takes care of her church responsibilities and still manages to take care of all of the stuff she does around the house. It makes what I do every day sound almost easy." - Kirk Nielson about wife, Allison.
"My wife seems to be gifted with almost goddess-like patience. Believe me, I love my children as much as any father, but when I try to spend a full day with them, (actually when I try to spend more than five or six hours alone with them), I wonder how my wonderful wife can spend every single day with them without help or adult conversation. I would go crazy doing that day in and day out! I feel so lucky that my wife is able to take care of our children every day, on top of cleaning the house, doing laundry, making dinners, and all the other things she seems to heap on her plate of responsibilities! All I can manage is making it to work every day." - Brady Thomason about wife, Berta
"I am in awe of my wife. The way she lives her life causes me to always want to be a better person, and do better in my life. Without a single comment, her actions motivate me, and make me to strive to do the right things." - Rich Boyd about wife, Carol Ann
"I am in absolute awe of my wife because of her compassion, love and patience. She has many qualities that I can only hope to have someday. Her love for other people is amazing. She has a way of always noticing the best in everyone and this makes me want to be with her and strive to be a better person. Many things that draw me to her are hard to put into words. I knew that I would be a lucky man if I was ever able to marry her and this is why I asked her to marry me after only 11 days of dating. She is a beautiful person and an incredible wife and mother to our two girls." - Brady Standifird about wife, Carly.
"I am in absolute awe of my wife because she epitomizes 'love' and great humanitarism. She is a patient and loving mother who inspires others to be better parents. I am also in awe to think a normal Joe like me could have landed such a beautiful person. She has a beautiful heart and is a 'hot mama.' Our families' lives are better because of her and I'll love her forever. To me, she is mother of the year, every year." Marc LaGoy about wife, Stacy
