Summer Camp for ADHD /Behaviorally Challenged Children

Is anyone aware of summer camps / programs that are geared specifically for children that are behaviorally challenged?

I know of camps for special health needs, but not specifically for ADHD kids.

I would ask when you are searching for a camp how they accommodate kids with attention problems. Also look into how active the kids are in the camp. A sports or outdoor camp may just be perfect.

You know there are many kids with these issues. My son is ADHD-inattentive. He's always gone to regular camps - I just talk with the camp director regularly to see how his day went. Most days were great because they keep changing activities, so he never really got bored.

There has been national news that links children taking ADHD medication and possible heart disease. Bourgade High School is offering a free cardiac screening for children under the age of 12 years old that are taking ADHD medication. The screening is free of charge but donations are appreciated. Screening will take place this Saturday May 3rd from 9am-2pm at Bourgade High School located at 4602 North 31st Ave in Phoenix 85017. The screening will be completed by a pediatric cardiologist from Anthony Bates Foundation
