Now that the kids are almost out of school (yikes! where did this year go?) I'm trying to put together some ideas of indoor activities to do at home. My kids love legos and doing crafts. Can anyone recommend some favorite games? Or special crafts to do? I'd especially like any games that might involve math (to keep up their math skills during the summer). Thanks!

Using Fruit Loop cereal to make necklaces, bracelets, or to create patterns and gluing on construction paper, counting, etc.
Also, planting seeds, then keeping a daily journal of the outcome. Kids love to watch everyday for comparison.
Create your own book using construction paper and gluing pics out of magazines, such as a flower book, sports book, vacation book, garden book, etc. Kids love to show these off to family.

Target had little pots in
Target had little pots in the dollar spot on clearance for 25 cents. They had ones with flowers and also ones with herbs. Additionally, you can go out of the house and do the kid's workshops at Home Depot and Lowe's. They are free. At Home Depot the children get an apron and get to use real tools. My children love it. Go to the company websites to get more information.

Have you ever bought the
Have you ever bought the summer activity bridge books? They are sold at places like Learning Express and Kidstop....
They are the funnest workbooks full of things to transition from one grade to another.
I just bought the pre-K to K and 1st to 2nd.

I like to use activity books
I like to use activity books and progressive reading programs in the summer. I really like the Kumon books sold at Barnes & Noble and sometimes I find them a little cheaper at Target.
I also like to cook with my kids. When we double recipes or measure things it really gets them thinking about math and fractions. Plus, you get to eat when you are finished!
