Let me preface this post by saying that I can't cut a straight line with a paper cutter, so I am not crafty, but I just did something really fun with my kids' pictures.
We got great photos taken a few months ago, and I blew up the individual kids photos in black and white, then picked up the 17.00 black frames with large white mats from IKEA.
I painted the mats with craft paint a really cool green, then stuck the photos inside and hung them vertically on my wall, almost floor to ceiling.
I love the result and paid only $50 total for the whole projcet instead of $50 per frame at Pottery Barn.
My girlfriend did the same thing, but painted all the mats different colors and set them on a shelf in the playroom. It was a fun, easy project anyone could do!
