Recycled Pumpkins

My daughter and I were lamenting throwing out our pumpkins that are out by our scarecrow (we won a 32 pound one by guessing it's weight) and thought maybe we'd try to paint them white and make "snowmen" out of them.

We asked our neighbors for theirs, so we have enough for 2 layered snowpeople. So, now I just need someone to tell me how to do it! LOL

We are figuring we'll paint them white and stack them, using the top one's stem for the nose. THen paint on or hot glue the rest. But, how will we keep them together?? Martha if you are reading this, please chime in!

I don't know how you'd keep

I don't know how you'd keep them together but...aren't you worried about them going bad?

They seem ok so far. As

They seem ok so far. As long as we don't cut into them, I think they'll last a while?? And truthfully if they DO go bad, nothing lost.

To keep them together, I'd

To keep them together, I'd probably just put a stake through them -- one that's long enough to poke into the ground as well so they'll stay put. It's a great idea, but like another mom said, I'd be wary of them going bad before Christmas.

I think a stake through them

I think a stake through them would start the decomposing process since the air will get to them. As far fetched as this sounds, I'd try super glue, or like that glue called "Gorilla Glue" that's suppose to hold anything together. I've used it for several things, including a shoe and it worked great!! Maybe glue one together at a time so you don't have so much force on the entire thing and it causes it to lop side or fall. Do one and let it dry over night and then do the other one. Great idea though, I'd love to see pictures!!
