Would you let Britney teach your daughter dance???

I took dance my entire life and I will most definitely start my daughter in dance soon. Would you let Britney Spears who has just been diagnosed with a few mental health issues teach your daughters class? Of course she has the dance ability and it would be an amazing opportunity for your child but right now in light of what is going on with her???? My friend that lives in LA and teaches adult dance classes at Millennium says that Britney is now teaching a few kids classes when not rehearsing and that the little girls love her.. The place is packed with parents that want their girls in the class when she is teaching. Would you allow your daughter to take this class???

Yes - I would, but

Yes - I would, but supervised. You're right - it would be an amazing opportunity for girls to learn dance from her. Robbing Spears the opportunity to do something productive because she has been diagnosed with mental health issues is short-sighted.

sure, fine, whatever

I have a family member that

I have a family member that has mental health issues and she does great with all my kids. However I never leave her alone with them. So yes I think it is a good chance for the kids as long as it is supervised. Hopefully this helps Britney deal with her mental health issues and be able to be with her family again.

I would allow my child to do

I would allow my child to do it also, if supervised. I'm not quite sure why but I feel badly for Britney. The media have played a big part in destroying this girl. She is totally lost in her life. Being with other children might help her want to straighten out for her own kids and help her have a feeling of self worth. I hope she comes through this in the end.

yes. i would let my daughter attend the class, with me there, of course. I think it would be fun for my daughter, because she doesnt know about Brits health issues.

I guess I would as long as

I guess I would as long as there was supervision. I danced my entire life, and I have to admit, when I see what little 6 year old girls are doing with their body and what they are wearing on stage, I'm a bit uncomfortable. It looks like a pole dance and I want to make all men close their eyes. I loved dancing, but right now, I'm glad I have three boys, so I don't have to make that decision.

With the way I've seen her

With the way I've seen her looking when she goes in, I'd say NO, plus I think it will make her someone that those kids look up to and she's the worst role model for girls right now.

No - I wouldn't sign up. In

In part b/c of (like the mom above who wrote) how she dresses for class. As the teacher, automatically you become a role model...even if the kid has never heard of Britney - like mine! I don't believe she is showing up looking like a professional role model for those kids - which would be important to me.
Having taken 16 years of dance, no one ever dressed for class looking more like a stripper than a dancer - as Britney does. I'm not sure that 3-6 yr olds should be emulating hotpants with fishnets - ripped, no less.

Plus, I'm not so sure it'd really be that amazing of an opportunity. For our family, my kid doesn't even know who she is - so she wouldn't view it as an opportunity. It would more be an opportunity for me to have a "celebrity sighting." Plus, for all I know, Britney might not be that great of a teacher anyway - shes not a choreographer - didn't she just do steps that someone else taught her?

I guess I'm just not too impressed with her!
....Now a class with Debbie Allen - both my daughter and I would be first in line!!! :)
