Just curious.....what are the rest of y'all doing for the fourth? Are you going to see fireworks and if so, where?
I have no idea what we'll do....I have PTO that day and so does my husband, and I'm taking half the day off Thursday. I was thining we'd have a BBQ and have my BIL and SIL over, but not sure I feel like hosting anymore. I have thought of nothing and I'm all out of ideas!

Yo! I guess we are going

Yo!

I guess we are going over to a friend of ours' place at the Pointe (7th St) as she is throwing a party...

I could use some rest... for the rest of the weekend!

Happy 4th :)

We are going to a friends'

karilouMomof2's picture

We are going to a friends' house for eating and swimming. My sister is having a gathering, but she lives so far away that I just don't feel like driving that far. I have to work the next day so staying close to home feels right.

If we see fireworks that is fine, but we will not be getting crazy about seeing them.

We are going to a cookout

We are going to a cookout with friends and then enjoy the fireworks from the city of Surprise - it was quite a display last year.

We are headed up to Flagstaff for a weekend of camping. Can't wait to get out of the heat! And no electronics for the weekend - just the good old outdoors for our entertainment.

We will probably go to a BBQ

We will probably go to a BBQ and pool party. Last year, we went to Glendale to see fireworks. No plans to see any this year.

We are going to the Diamondbacks game and watching the fireworks from the stadium afterward. We are bringing our 7 week old to her first game. Hopefully she loves it as much as her brother does :)

We're staying home, too. We have a pool and live close enough to downtown Tempe that we usually can see the fireworks from there, so we blast the television so we can hear the music from the live coverage on the news. We don't see the ground-level fireworks but at least we stay cool!

Also, today, in the Republic's Arizona Living section, I wrote a story about fun stuff you can do at home for the Fourth, like the Diet Coke and Mentos geyser and shooting up Alka-Seltzer rockets. My son can't wait to try it. We also picked up some of those little fireworks that they sell at Fry's and Target.

I love the Fourth but I do not like the crowds.

Not too sure either. My FIL

Not too sure either. My FIL is in town and staying at a resort, so we may go over there to swim. And then they go to see the fireworks that evening, we will probably go home as they may scare our 9-month old daughter.

There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one!

We are staying home. We BBQ

We are staying home. We BBQ and hang out in our pool. In the evening we just have to step outside and we get to see 3 different firework displays. So we take advantage of that.

I myself am working, but it will actually be fun. I work at a private country club and they put on a HUGE display of fireworks. The club needed extra help so I volunteered to watch the kids' relay races and give out prizes (which all will get). The best part is, my son will get to be there with me and participate, we'll have a huge meal and see the fireworks. I'm actually excited to go back to work after working all day!
