Weren't we just talking about extreme birthday parties the other day? Apparently Suri Cruise got a $100,000 bash. The theme was butterflies. Read more here.
I'm hoping to spend just $250 on my daughter's 8th rocker/super model birthday party. I think the most I ever spent on a party was $300. What's your limit?

100K? Thats absurd!! My daughters 2 yr birthday will be around $200 this year. Just like it was for her 1st birthday.

This money should have went
This money should have went to help the poor, the abused, the homeless animals, shelters, or another great charity.
We spent around 150.00 for the 1st, but will spend less for the 2nd Birthday.

The most I think have ever
The most I think have ever spent was $500 and that was a huge mistake. The birthday was for my oldest daughter and I did the bounce house, pinatas, cotton candy, gift bags and food. Yea, never again. My limit is $300 if we are expecting a lot of family. I can usually get away with $200 though.

$17K on flowers, I'm sorry
$17K on flowers, I'm sorry but for things that will die with in a a couple of days .... there's just no justification ... you can't probably with out a doubt spell s-p-o-i-l-e-d b-r-a-t when she gets older ... when you start giving things with that price tag on them when they're that young they just expect more and more and more as they get older .... will be interesting to see the trend they start and what the following Birthdays will bring. It's nice they have that $$$ to spend, but wouldn't it be more worth while to donate to a cause that could use that money much more wisely than on $17K worth of flowers .... ughh!!
I know. My daughter isn't
I know. My daughter isn't going to be showered with flowers or anything extravagant.
Our expenses are breaking down this way: about $150 for the party place if only the kids that RSVP'd come, food/drinks about $60 and party bags $40ish. I typically look for the best things I can get at the dollar spot and on sale/clearance at Target for the bags....and some candy, of course.
If I had $100,000 or even $1,000 to spend on a party, I just couldn't/wouldn't. At least not for my soon-to-be 8 year old, and especially not for a 2 year old. Memories don't have to cost a fortune.

Crazy! And we talk about
Crazy! And we talk about over-the-top birthdays around here? Quite honestly, I doubt you would even be able to tell it was a $100,000 party! It would be kind of interesting to see though.

I wonder how he spent on his
I wonder how he spent on his adopted kids b-days? That cetainly did not make the news so my guess is no where near that amount. MMMMM...wonder how they are feeling that he spent that much on Suri?
100k is a lot for a wedding,
100k is a lot for a wedding, even a 50th wedding anniversary! for a small child, thats outrageous. What kind of party are they going to throw her when she turns 10 or 16? I try to keep a limit on my daugther's bday parties, it varies depending on what we are doing and how many kids we are inviting. The important thing is that we invite our family and she gets to spend time with her cousins that she doenst see often.
