Teen dance themes?

How about a hawaiian/beach theme? It's getting warm outside, so a summer-type feel would be ok. It can be truly casual, with hawaiian shirts, kakhi's, flowy skirts, flower leis, etc., and the kids can even go barefoot. And you can get cheap, plastic coconut cups with little umbrellas from Oriental Trading or something similar. There are actually TONS of hawaiian themed stuff in Oriental Trading and other similar catalogues. Hope this gives you an idea . . .Sounds fun to me anyway! Hahaha!

How about starry, starry night? Stars, planets, etc. Wrap everything in tin foil or paint stars silver then put glitter on? lots of silver ribbon as comet tails...

It might be too much work but American Idol is so popular that I think an "AI" Theme with a Karaoke machine might be fun. Kids and teachers could sing and a DJ could play music from past contestants on the show as well as other music. Prizes could be given out to kids that participate in the singing.
