I just joined a couple of mommy meet ups. i have not been to any of the meetings yet, but am scheduled for a Mary Kay party at my home, and a bday party tomorrow. I was wondering what your thoughts were on these meet ups good and bad... I am a SAHM/working from home when I have a client which is few and far between (not really that active). I was basically looking for friends like me and possibly a networking group. So since I have spent a lot of time at home lately saving gas and money I have been surfing the net and stumbled upon Meet ups...
I thought about even starting my own meeting my own specifics in search of people like me. Not sure how complicated it will be...

I joined a meet up a couple months ago and have never been able to attend one activity. All of them are during the day and i cant make any of them because i have to work
They look like fun and would love to go to one but just wish they offerd some there were on the weekends or after 5pm

See I am the opposite. I need Meet ups during the day, it is too hard for me to get out past 3 during school days because of kids homework, dinner and keeping the house up... I am apart of one: West Valley moms Playgroup / family gatherings. They do alot of family stuff it seems and they meet mostly on weekends it seems with kids and husbands too. I am looking for girlfriends to hang out with during the day do girly things or just girly talk things I cant do with my husband... Even networking with other mothers.
This group is probably perfect for you and i think some of the mothers are all over the valley not only in WV.

Meeting Description: Let's get all the families together for a day of swimming and fun at the lake! We'll have a picnic too!
Nothing set in stone yet but I will try to reserve 8-12 picnic table's for us. We'll have a potluck type picnic, everyone can bring a dish. (Make sure to bring a cooler to put it in and bring something that won't spoil, we should be ok if it's in a cooler though ) Please bring your own drinks. Please post what you'll be bringing.
Be sure to have plenty of sunblock and towels and dry clothes for the drive home. I would recommend life jackets since we can never be too careful around water and water toys such as float rings and rafts. I'll have squirt guns for the kids (oh and our husbands too LOL)
Once I reserve the picnic table's I will post what picnic site we'll be meeting at, I'll also have signs up there. I'm planning on reserving the tables for 10am-2pm I'll be up there a little early to post signs and probably stay later too!
Anyone that wants to meet up at my house first and follow us are welcome to. I'll be leaving around 8:30am
If at all possible, not required, I would appreciate anyone who could donate $3-$5 per family to help with the cost of reserving the picnic tables. The picnic tables will be $60 for the 4 hours. Again, it is NOT required but appreciated and I will not be asking you for it, so if your not able to please still come along I want us ALL TO BE THERE!

I highly recommend Scottsdale Moms n Kids on Meet Up! I joined and my kids and I are having a blast. The organizer really trys to make everyone happy with events in the morning, evening and on weekends. Check it out.
p.s. Even though it's called Scottsdale Moms n Kids they have playdates all over including North and East Phoenix, PV and Scottsdale.

Does anyone know of a meetup that meets in the evenings or on the weekends ( I work during the day)? I am a mom of three 12, 10 and 7, and I need a place to meet other moms or families with kids.
Actually, I am also looking for a group for moms - I need some me time sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and enjoy spending time with them and of course I would love to meet other families so we can have fun together as a family, but I at the same time, I would also want like to do some "girl's stuff" once in a while.
I've been searching tbut so far have not had much luck.

Hi, I just started the other day a family fun meet up group for ages 4 and up.No babies, just older kid fun. I have two meet ups scheduled and am waiting for school to start to post more and get ideas from everyone.In this group we all decide what to do, since as most above have stated they wish they had more on the weekends and evenings.
