I am part of a group called the Single Parents Association. This is a great group for single parents and blended families. My 6 yr old son and I have made a lot of new friends, participated in a lot of activities like BBQ's, picnics, day trips, educational seminars and a lot of other things. Being a single parent, I found that I didn't fit in with my married friends anymore or my single friends. We fit right into this group that has single moms, single dads and blended families. Check it out. You'll be glad you did.

I am also a single mother and was once in a single parent group I found on www.meetups.com but it closed when looking for another gorup I think I came across that one. Don't you have to pay an annual fee to be a memember?

You do have to pay to be a member. It's $30 per year but it's pro-rated at $2.50 per month after October. I found though that an average of $2.50 per month is really nothing considering the benefit you receive. There are a lot of events some are free like picnics and BBQs and sometimes we get tickets to things which cost a lot more per ticket than $30. We've met a lot of great people in the group and since I have no family in the area, they've kind of become my family.
