Hey everybody, I know this site is for moms so I apologize. I live in the Chandler/Gilbert area and have a 3 year old son. He's had a lot of developmental delays and is only saying a few words. He goes to preschool 3 days a week, but I am just trying to find some other kids his age that I can help him interact with. Whenever I'd take him to the park he usually ignores the other kids and I'd really like to get him more socialized.
Anybody interested or have questions please let me know
Thanks !

You might contact a speech
You might contact a speech therapist. I know that when my son was attending speech therapy, they had speech playgroups, designed to get the kids interacting and speaking with one another. The speech therapists would get on the floor with the kids and engage them in activites, using sign language with them all, as well.

I have a friend that actually does sign language therapy on kids and people, and it really helps to encourage their development. Check it out it's very cool.

Hey Stay at home dad! Just
Hey Stay at home dad! Just ant you to know that at 3, it's pretty normal for kids to co-play instead of play with others, but the speech thing is worth getting checked out. It's nice to just have people around to talk with and socialize if he decides he wants to.
I would love to write an article about what it's like to be a stay at home dad. If you'd be interested in talking to me, email me at brookeromney@cox.net
I write the mom's column for the Gilbert Republic.

Thanks for the great responses. When I first made the post I felt like the creepy guy posting to a mom's site. My son's been getting speech, occupational , and physical therapy for close to 2 years now.
