My son who is nine is starting to really get into football. We decided next year we will let him join pop warner. So until then he is practicing all he can.
My husband just recently started a new job that takes him away from us durning most week days. So, yes you guest it. I am it!
I don't mind at all.I am, how should I put this.....very girlie!
Monday was the start of our evening practice ( at home). I am still wearing my skirt from work and slippers.....Ha..ha!
My first throw to my son was very funny. So he reminded me of the commerical on Nickoloden. You know elbo your brother, flick a burger...
I actually started to do well......
I want to know if anyone knows of a book or DVD for moms...to help practice football with there children??
Oh, by the way...next time I won't be wearing my skirt.
Thanks!!

I am at work now but I can
I am at work now but I can certainly ask my husband (ex-NFL lineman) if he can give you an insight on how his mom being there all these years playing football from young age to NFL) influnced him...One thing I can tell you is that she is still one fanatical college football fan....
If you have any specific question for him, feel free to let me know and I will relay the question to him.

Hollyanne2u -I am sorry to hear about your father. My father passed away in 2005 and it was very difficult, I remember I was shocked at first and it took a few days before I even cried.....I just could not believe it, even though he had been ill for a long time. Sometimes I still don't beleive it!
Take care of yourself...and take it one day at a time...you will go through a whole range of emotions.
my son is now 17, but when
my son is now 17, but when he was 8 we drove him to another town 30 miles away every day after school for pop warner. the next year we started our own pop wanrner division in our town. up until then i knwo nothing about football even though i had been a cheerleader in high schooll. my take on teh game was thins.. you get a bunch of guys in a pasture, you give them a ball. put it in the middle, they beat each other up . if they keep the ball and get to one end everyone cheers really loud then its then enx teams turn. so what i did is i volunteered to be team mom. this allowed me to be on the field with the team since i am a nurse, i was elected to be the team ohwie taker carer of. i learned a lot about the rules because i also carried the rule book. and that is one way that i learned the game i didnt feel stupid when my son and his dad were discussing the game. os fast forward to today. i have been volunteer athletic trainer for the high school footbal team for 4 yrs now. even though my son doesnt play high school football, the parents and kids demanded that i be there. i tried to quit last year but was talked into it. i dont ride on the bus because i would have to kill some of the teens but i do travel to all the games in my car. as well as my sons cross country and wrestling events. and i can talk about football with anyone now so i suggest is for you to learn what the game is about and the rules.
