And the last Triple Crown winner we had was 30 years ago with Affirmed.
My family and I are going to watch this. It'll be very interesting, especially with the horse from Japan up against him....and I am holding my breath here...It's a tough call but I cannot forget how Big Brown won the Preakness - he just practically loped, not galloping, to the finish line like it was nothing....

I thought the last triple crown winner was Secretariat?
I have high hopes for Big Brown but he does have a crack in his hoof. I hope he doesn't come out severly injured after this race.

I used to train racing
I used to train racing Thoroughbreds myself and small cracks are pretty common in racing and everywhere else - it has been fixed. Hooves are like nails in humans.

Secretariat was and still is an astonishing thoroughbred ever raced in TV age and his owner will be at the Belmont race this Saturday.
