Here are a few tips to stay active while not overheating in this "But it's a Dry Heat" climate;

1. Hydrate yourself days before the activity, not as you drive up to the event.
2. Eat at least 4-6 small meals throughout the day, to keep your energy constant.
3. Avoid caffeine that will dehydrate you.
4. Keep a wet towel handy or apply water to your head and neck to keep your body temperature down.
5. Dress in loose fitting clothing.
6. Outside exercise should be done earlier or later in the day.

It's so hard motivating our family to stay active unless it is poolside because of the heat. Thanks for posting the tips.

I will say that if I do anything active, I try to do it early in the morning or as the sun is setting so that the heat doesn't weaken me immediately. :) But I think we're going to join the nearby rec center so we don't get too lazy and out of shape this summer.
