Has anyone seen the ads for Beyonce's new line of clothing for kids!?!?!? It looks like an ad for "Pedophiles Digest." The little girls are 'dolled up' in sleazy form-fitting outfits complete with high heels then posed like little porn stars. Why not just put them in T-shirts that say "Go ahead - molest me, mom doesn't care!" or "Future Jerry Springer Guest"?
I think it's disgusting that the fashion industry wants to sexualize lillte kids, but parents who buy this garbage are either ignorant, evil or are trying to live vicariously through their daughters. And we wonder why kids are 'growing up so fast,' --- maybe it's because society apparently thinks its ok to dress them up as strippers as soon as they're old enough to walk!

I haven't seen them yet, but
I haven't seen them yet, but I am now going to check them out. I absolutely hate the clothing that tries to make little girls look older than they are. I can find better choices now for my girls but I remember a few years back it was almost impossible to find modest clothing for them.
The line is "Dereon Girls
The line is "Dereon Girls Collection." The clothes themselves don't seem that outrageous off the model as pictured on the Web site. (It's how you put the clothes together that makes it bad.) The ads certainly won't win over moms, though. Then again, I'm guessing the aim is publicity.
The models look like they are around 8 or 9 years old, wearing lots of makeup, high heels, boas and looking like little tarts. So sad. That's not how to sell clothes to a mom - at least not this one.
Trampy clothing has infiltrated the 7-12 clothing section a couple of years now. It's up to moms to put their feet down and not buy those styles. Little girls should look like little girls.

I have not seen this yet,
I have not seen this yet, but I agree totally with you. I need to buy my 9 year old shorts, and I don't mean butt showing shorts. Nice to see the longer shorts, although they seem to only be in plaid these days.
We are not alone in the feelings of these clothes, but I am always amazed at what marketers will try and do. It only takes one parent to buy this stuff and if the girl has any kind of influence over her friends they will be clamoring for this stuff. I guess that is what the fashion people want to happen.

You're right - it takes just takes one partent to buy that stuff and the other girls will be asking for it.

Sometimes I am glad a have a son and no daughters....it seems easier in some ways with boys.
Haven't seen Beyonces
Haven't seen Beyonces clothes. I still have a problem with finding pants enough to cover and longer shorts. Shirts that are long enough and don't have sleaves that don't stop.
I don't have girls, but I
I don't have girls, but I know that it's difficult to find clothes for my 7 yo son. He is in the "8 to 20" size clothes, and finding casual shirts that don't have skulls or obnoxious phrases emblazoned on them is difficult. Don't I remember a campaign a few years ago started by some high schoolers to have prom dresses that weren't slit up to here or cut down to there? I guess the market never materialized.
I haven't seen the line of
I haven't seen the line of clothing yet, but I totally agree with you. I have seen girls with clothes on and still look so naked out in public. It is a wonder that more girls are not kidnapped and raped from all the advertising they give to the public.

I haven't seen this
I haven't seen this particular line, but I can only imagine what it mimics in the way of sleazy clothing ... kinda along the lines of Bratz dolls clothing. My daughter has gravitated towards clothing that's definitely NOT appropriate or appealing for younger or older girls and definitely nothing that I would allow her to wear. For example she'll see half shirts for older girls in the girls section of clothing and ask if she can get one; of course I won't let her. Also, she really likes Bratz dolls and their clothing, although I will not allow her have those dolls. She's seen them on t.v. and in the stores, but I think those dolls are so trashy looking and depict the trashy and sleazy style and I don't want her trying to mimic that at all ... young or older. I'm not sure why she tends to seem to like this more revealing style of clothing as I do not dress like that at all nor does anyone we know .... so I think she must get it from what she sees on television through the pre-tee shows ... ICarly, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, etc. that's all I can chalk it up to.
The advertisements I saw for
The advertisements I saw for Beyonce's line for kids' clothing definitely did not make me want to go out and buy the product, but it is really indicative of problems that exist in the society today. I am constantly amazed at what I see young girls wearing to school and out in public in general. I wonder who buys these sort of clothes for their girls, and what message are these girls sending out when wearing not only revealing clothes, but clothes with messages such as "Hot Thing!" and the like.
The other disconcerting part of these advertisements is the amount of makeup these young ladies are wearing. It is just not acceptable to have our "10" year olds portrayed as if they are in their late teens and early twenties.
