So going along with the celebrity names posting I thought I'd ask this question - If you could have named your child and your husband would HAVE to agree to it, what would you have named her or him?
I have thought a lot about this lately. With the Miller Lyte, Sunday Rose, Shiloh, and Suri's out there and their names being pretty unique I wonder what other mom's (or dad's) dared to dream for their kids and were grounded by the other influence in their lives. I dated a guy and his last name was Wright and said to me that if I were ever to get pregnant we would name our child Dunn It or Cherry Dunn which I thought was ridiculous. Luckily I was done having kids. I think the weirdest thing I wanted to name my daughter was Savannah Rose (which is not at all weird). I was told no by her dad and we settled on Megan Grace which was fine because with our last name her initial came out MGD which I thought was hilarious. So any weird names out there that you wanted to inflict on your child???

I like very unique names
I like very unique names kind of vintage. That's why I picked Scarlette for my daughter. I also liked Audrey, but there are a lot of them out there. If I have another girl i think I want the name to be Lillian or Vivian. We'll see.

I like Sophie or Sophia. But my husband didn't care for it much. But hey, i shot down his Natasha. He suggested that for our daughters middle name and i do not like it. No offense to any Natasha's out there.

My ex wanted to name our daughter "Ocean" or if she was a boy "Salvatore Nickademus" I could have killed him! We settled on Josephina "Joey". I Love traditionally boy names for little girls!

My hubby tossed out the name
My hubby tossed out the name (with our first born) "Cisco" because we lived in/around San Francisco at one time and he just thought it was a memorable time. Of course I did veto that one! Instead we went with some very solid Irish names for our boys. Don't mean to offend any Cisco's out there! Sorry.

This reminded me of a time
This reminded me of a time in high school when we were given the baby think it over dolls. A friend of mine named her baby Coronna Annlyme. I thought that she was crazy, and being that we went to a catholic school I thought that for sure the nuns would catch on but she was able to survive the few weeks without getting caught. I was thankful she didn't do the same with her first child.
Our last name sounds like
Our last name sounds like Suri's, so the joke for us was that if we had a girl, we'd name her Carribbean, and if it was a boy, it would be Booze. I never said we're funny. Actually, I kind of thought the name Summer was cute, but paired with the last name, it would be TOO cute.
Thanks for mentioning Shiloh, by the way. My husband and I were trying to remember her name, and it kills me when I know I know something and can't remember it (which is happening more frequently every day).

When I was younger my name
When I was younger my name was very unique. I was teased pretty badly as a child, but it made me appreciate my name more. I wanted to name my second child either, Sian Marie, or Sassafras Marie. In the end though neither name suited her. Although I still gave my daughters very rare names: Annabelle Virginia, and Georgia Mariee.

Our first and only son is a Jr. We always said if we had another boy we'd name him Harry. Well, we had three more children but never another boy! But now that we're going to be grandparents and we know we're having a grandson, we've nicknamed him Lil Harry! Which just angers my daughter and her boyfriend to no end! Oh yes! I already like this grandparent business!

If I had a red headed
If I had a red headed daughter with big green eyes like mine and pearly white skin - no freckles - her name would be Jupiter.
I can only dream..
Not a joke...

My husband suggested the
My husband suggested the name Darby when I was pregnant. I thought he was crazy and I forgot about it. A few months later, when we found out it was a girl, I said, "What about the name, Darby?" He told me that he had already suggested that months ago and that I shot it down!
So guess what... we have a beautiful little girl - Darby!
...Only because I thought of it, though:)

I don't mind unique names,
I don't mind unique names, after all my kids' names are Angus and Molly (not common in the states). What really bugs me is people who make up names or give their kids stupid names thinking it's cute (i.e. Miller Lyte and Moxy Crimefighter - among others). I think people get so distracted by trying to be what they perceive to be creative that they don't think about how their choice will effect their child down the line.
If our daughter had been a boy, I wanted Seamus, but my husband thought it was too rhymy with Angus, so before we knew the sex the names we had decided on were Molly and Liam.
