Hello, lovemy4,
I wanted to make sure you saw this. Sorry I was late on the draw..: )
From the Alli website:
"alli works by blocking the absorption of a quarter of the fat in the foods you eat. This undigested fat passes through the body naturally, and it is not harmful. In fact, you may recognize it in the toilet as something that looks like the oil on top of a pizza."
This is of concern because not only is that the grossest statement I've read in a long time, I would question how it can decipher between storage fat and structural fat.
I wouldn't want to eat wild salmon and have its omega-3 fatty acids swimming around in the toilet.
It sounds like you are definitely on the right track with conscious eating and amping up the exercise. Fat is not the culprit - its processed foods. A bit of butter, eggs, or milk, etc. nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados etc. have amazing nutrients for health and well being. Portion size is the key. Fill up on fruits and vegetables. I've been dipping my vegetables in pineapple salsa. It is so good!
I remember years ago the magic bullet was a pill called Starch Blocker. One of the major side effects was uncontollable gas. That would be a hoot in line at the grocery store.

I second that, especially
I second that, especially since the Omega3 fatty acids are essential in the transport system for Serotonin, the neurotransmitter responsible for regulating moods and that sense of well being...which ironically can contribute to our need or lack there of to eat, in response to stress....
Exercise seems like the only answer...

Thank you. There is a lot
Thank you. There is a lot of information provided with the intro. packet I purchased, including much of what you posted. The question about how does it know one fat from another is a good one and not addressed??
I haven't pulled the trigger and started taking it in that it is such a commitment and life has been crazy. It isn't anything I'd ever do long term, but I do think I can try a month of it. We'll see. Thanks for your input.
