I am wondering what age is appropriate for kids to watch tonight's meth documentary. I'm not sure about my 5 year old, but I think the 8 year old is able to comprehend this. What do you other moms think? Will you be letting your kids watch this tonight?

I plan on watching with both
I plan on watching with both my kids - almost 8 and 11. But I will be TiVoing it because we have soccer practice during the broadcast. However, I may watch before them, just to know what's coming. You as a parent just know what they can handle. That way I can pause and talk about what they will see next.
I've talked to both my kids about drugs and how I feel about them, what they do, etc. But our discussion has been general. I'm hoping this really creates a good conversation.

I'd definitely watch with them, and keep the mute button handy in case it gets too intense. It might help to give them a little introduction.
I'm so impressed that the networks are doing this. We have got to keep kids away from meth.
I'm going to watch it
I'm going to watch it without my 9-year-old. I'll tape it and if it seems like something he should see, we'll watch it - or parts of it - together. To be honest, I've seen some of the preview footage, and it looks a little too intense for a child who has no interest or peer pressure in his life at this stage. We've talked about drugs, and he knows it's unacceptable in our family, but I think that's all he's ready for. He still is horrified by cigarette smokers. I even find the anti-meth ads here on azcentral and television a bit much for me to stomach. I'd watch cautiously with kids.

I agree with you Karina. I taped it and when I get a chance to look at it I can figure out if it is right for my oldest who just turned 9. I think it can be a good starting point for conversation if it is not to intense. I am thinking it is going to be pretty brutal to hold older peoples attention though.

We also taped it on our dvr and will watch it with our older two kids after our preview. We regularly preview movies on cable that our (self acclaied grown up) oldest (who just barely turned 13) wants to watch. It has worked out very well for us.
I would agree that about 8+ is the right age.

I wanted to watch this so
I wanted to watch this so very badly, however I missed it. Can you tell me if there is a website that I can go to that I can watch this? I know this drug to well and know what it does to you, how it affects your life as well as your family and your future. I used to be a user and now that I have two teenagers I am terrified about this. Can anyone offer me any kind of advice on this matter. This is the most life crushing drug out there and I ask god everyday to protect my kids and myself from it and the people who push it.
