My son has just turned 13 weeks old and for the past week or so he constantly has his hands in his mouth. He has been drooling like crazy and likes to suck on his fingers. I think he is teething but everyone says he is to young. He refuses any kind of teething rings I give him.We have tried the soft, hard the smooth and the ribbed kind. Someone please help with any suggestions

My son started teething at
My son started teething at about that age, but didn't get his first tooth until a week before 7 months. My doctor confirmed that he was teething, even at a young age. Some babies(although rare) are born with teeth. My son never liked teething rings, but he did like partially frozen baby washcloths to suck and chew on. We also used teething pellets(ask your doctor if it is ok at this age) and that really seemed to help.
My son did the same thing at
My son did the same thing at 3 or 4 months old. I always wondered if he was getting teeth earlier than expected. He drooled and kept his fingers in his mouth. It wasn't until he was 7 mths that he got his bottom teeth. During the teething stage, we used teething tablets, cold cloths against the gums, massage the gums, and tylenol for extreme discomfort.

Thanks for the advice! This
Thanks for the advice! This is y first baby so I have no idea what a teething tablet?? Where can find them at?
You can find them at
You can find them at walmart. I think they have them in the baby isle. If it isn't there go to the pharmacy area, where the baby things are there and you can get the Humphrees or the other kind...if you ask they will know.

Teething or not, kids are
Teething or not, kids are drooly in that stage. I remembered having 10 bibs and more in a day for my son.
Have FUN!
My son has been going
My son has been going through the same thing since he was about 3 months also (he is 5 1/2 mo now) and still does not have any teeeth. He might not like the teething rings because its not as easy to hold and put in your mouth when your that young, Teething tablets work great. Im sure when he gets a little older and is able to hold things a lot better he will love the rings. My son drools so much he soaks his bibs and then it goes to his clothes. The ones with the plastic on the back work a little better (but the noise from the plasitc moving around scares him), but if your son doesnt mind that noise those work great!
My son did the same thing at
My son did the same thing at that age. He had a bib on at every waking moment. I swore he was going to get a tooth, but here we are at 8 months and still NO TEETH! Through these months I can tell when his gums are extra tender and sensitive, and I will give him a very cold or frozen wash cloth to chew on and that works good!
I wouldn't worry. Get used to lots of drool and lots of sopping wet bibs!
Good luck!
Thank you for the idea of
Thank you for the idea of the cold/frozen wash cloth!!
My daughter is 7 1/2 months
My daughter is 7 1/2 months and she started doing that as well. I would have her the GaxX bottle for babies, you know the ones with the squishy top, she would naw on that and LOVED it. Try that! Always, of course, never leave your child unattended with one though. Good luck!
There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one!
