My daughter every now and then will matter-of-factly say O-M-G! I paused the first time I heard it. I'm thinking, I don't use that except in texting, how does she know that? I'm guessing Hannah Montana or iCarly - her two favorite shows. And she's always saying stuff about her BFFs.
And she's just 7.
Apparently, text taking is creeping in to our every day language and school assignments. Read more here.
So are your little ones saying LOL, OB (oh, brother) or NMP (not my problem)? I don't use it when I'm speaking, but I do when I text. Funny, huh?

I saw that article too!!
I saw that article too!! Luckily my daughter is only 5 so she doesn't have any concept of the emoticans and abbreviated expressions ... but I'm sure as she grows and gets older she will ... I'm savoring the days that she's niave about those things .... because I know it won't be long that she won't be so niave!!
Isn't it sad? I'm just so
Isn't it sad? I'm just so amazed at how much kids know these days, just like my mom was so amazed at what we knew back then.
I long for the days when she only played with Barbie and her baby dolls...now it's all about Webkinz and computer games. However, we are having a nice time doing board games this week.

My girls do not use that.
My girls do not use that. The only thing they watch though is Disney but in the morning on weekends, as they eat breakfast. My littlest one says 'snap' though. Not exactly sure where she got that, but I think it is funny.
My oldest, 9, texts me using her Dads iphone, when I am not with them. She usually spells everything out though. Oh the things to look forward to.
LMAO - tehe - LOL - OMG!!
