I just need some advice.. My son is going to be 5 in 10days.. He is still wearing pull ups to bed everynight.. He wakes up wet every morning.. We have tried no liquids after dinner but he still wets.. My oldest potty trained at 3 and never wet the bed..
Should I worry? Any advice as to what i should do so that we can get him to stay dry all night?

Have you looked into any
Have you looked into any medical reason for this?

No I have not thought of
No I have not thought of that.. He never has any accidents during the day.. He has great bladder control when he is awake..
What would they look for at the doctor?
I had a cousin (male) who at
I had a cousin (male) who at age 6 still had this same problem. Turns out it was a bladder problem. He saw a doctor and eventually it all got better. I have no idea what exactly he had medically as I was a child myself and just recall he'd wet his bed. It was really hard on him - so give your son lots of encouragement - as maybe this is something he cannot control. I'd look into seeing a doctor.

Thanks.. He is going in for
Thanks.. He is going in for his 5 yr check up soon.. I will ask when i take him to that..
I'd absolutely check with
I'd absolutely check with your pediatrician. There are medicines on the market now - available in pill form and nasal spray - that prevent bed wetting. Really, in this day and age, no child should have to deal with the humiliation and stigma of a wet bed. I know a boy who took the tablet up until about age 7. Another boy took it up through age 11. If there's not some medical problem, they eventually just grow out of it. Good luck. Your son will be thrilled not to have to worry about it, especially when it comes time for sleepovers and that sort of thing. Good luck!

I agree...definitely call
I agree...definitely call your family doctor. Some kids sleep really heavy and can't wake themselves up to go to the restroom. I know with both my kids I did this and it helped, no drinks after dinner, but an hour after dinner we went to the restroom and took a bath, then again before bed I had them go again. Just some other advice on something to try. I would definitely call the doctor because some kids have a problem with wetting the bed though (there is a name for it although I can't remember).
GOOD LUCK!

Maybe I'm just a bit more
Maybe I'm just a bit more laidback about this than others...but if your child is just about/barely 5 and wets at night, it may just be where they are with training.
There is probably NOTHING wrong - medical problems are the exception, not the rule.
When my daughter night trained at 3 1/2, I just assumed that all my friends' kids did at 3 1/2 too. What I came to learn since then is that MANY of her friends at age 5 and 6 still wear a pull-up at night. I believe that is the information that most moms aren't going to just volunteer up - so it may be more prevalent than you realize.
I believe that some women take potty training as a measure of THEIR SUCCESS as a parent, rather than it being reflective of the child's development. And, they are then embarrassed to offer up that they, the parent, haven't been successful with getting their kid "on track."
I'll bet if you just give it some time, accidents will simply get fewer and further apart!
Sounds like you are doing everything just fine and everything will fall into place - just along a different timetable than you first envisioned!!
