A Sprinkle Here and There

Ok, so my 27 month old son is potty trained and with that has come some strange events. Now that he can control when and where he goes, he drops his pants at a moments notice to pee in the yard in the grass, the bushes, the side of the house. The other day he woke up from his nap and I asked him if he needed to use the potty. Of course in typical 2 year old fashion the answer was No. A few moments later the phone rang and I ran to answer it. As I made my way back into the kitchen, I heard running water in the pantry, and no, there isn't supposed to be. My son was peeing into my recycling bin(with very good aim I might add)! It was only when I yelled his name out, first, middle and last, that things got messy. I asked him where we were supposed to pee and he said "the toilet" and went scampering off to finish up his business properly. He later told me he was sorry about it and wouldn't do it again. Is this normal for him to be so curious about peeing on ABSOLUTELY everything?? Please tell me this is a phase that will pass.....

This too shall pass. My son

This too shall pass. My son enjoyed "watering" everything outside. We designated a private area (where neighbors wouldn't have to see) that he could use outside and said that was the only outside place he could go. He lost outside interest when a spider took up residence in his pee-pee place.

Make sure and write this

Make sure and write this story in his baby book. It is the kind of thing he'll love to read about in his gross, 5-7 year old phase! :)

And yes, this too will pass (and that is kind of sad, in a crazy way :)
