well i have an 18 month old son that will not get off the bottle for ANYTHING!!! me and my husband have tried everything, i mean don't get me wrong theres points in the day that he will drink a cup but after seeing that we give our 6 month old daughter her bottle then that's when all the fighting begins..lol!! does anybody know any other ways to get him off that might help us??

Maybe you could give him the

Maybe you could give him the choice of water in a bottle or milk/juice in a sippy cup. It gives him some control over the situation. And I'd really go overboard about how lucky he is because he's a big boy and can have yummy milk in a big boy cup, and yummy food and that babies can only have baby milk in a plain boring bottle.

Also, you could pick a day to start. Then talk to him for a few days before so it's not such a surprise.

Why not just skip the sippy

Why not just skip the sippy cup?

Those cups with valves may be convenient, but realistically, they weren't even around 15-20 years ago, and somehow, everyone else survived....

There are so many cool cups with lids with super-neat-o straws that you can buy. Let your toddler pick out some fun character straw cups. Make a big deal out of how they are just for him. Not for his sister!
Whether at the Disney store, Party City, or just even those free cups you get with a kids meal at any restaurant. You could do cheap plastic cups with a lid, but then get some full straws at Walgreens. We bought straws for Valentines, St. Pats and Easter....
There are even some with snow globes at the bottom!

Sippies aren't cheap anyway - so $3-7 on a cool straw cup isn't that bad if you realize you can use that until they are 10!

Good luck!
