Smuggling stuff in her diaper?!!!! So not normal...

divaballerina's picture

So my 2 yr old daughter came uo to me today and tells me to wash her pacifier (yes she shouldn't have one but baby brother still does) so I ask her why. She proceeded to tell me that it had "Tee Tee on it". I asked how it got on the pacifier and she said just as casually as ever that it was in her diaper. She said " Brooke put it in her diaper and pee-ed on it". I asked why did she put it in her diaper and she said "So MayMay (Mason) won't geeeet it Moommmy". Mason being her 10 month old much stronger younger brother, who can now steal her pacifier right from her mouth. When at home sometimes they will just run around her her diaper b/c it's just easy. I guess she figured b/c she didn't have pockets she would just hide them in her diaper. I asked how many she had in her diaper and she replied "I don't know, um TWO"! And dug them out for me to see.. Nice.. Sp we are smuggling things in the diaper now.. I thought it was just because she was wearing JUST a diaper but then I remembered my friends little girl did it and she is already 5. We went to eat at PFChangs and her daughter started digging in her pants and when my friend ask what she was doing she replied as she was pulling out a pack of sweet tarts (the little three pack) that she was saving them for later... No I know she had pockets b/c she was wearing jeans.. So anyone else have a child that smuggled things in there underpants???

HAHAHA my daughter did this. Of course as soon as I caught her doing this (she was about 1 and 1/2) I would tell her no and say "that's yucky." And she'd hide stuff like cookies and food in her's. Be thankful it's a pacifier and easy to wash, mashed up food is the worst. Another option for you to help break it, give her a purse to put things in.

That is pretty funny. Maybe

That is pretty funny. Maybe we will have to invent a diaper with a pocket to store things!

That's really funny! No, my

That's really funny! No, my son didn't smuggle stuff in his diaper but even now he still stashes stuff in his socks, which can't be comfortable.

maybe it's bad to admit

maybe it's bad to admit this, but in college, when we'd go out for the evening, I would hide some "mad money" in my underpants, at my left hip. My reasoning was that I was usually wearing outfits without pockets, and if I was separated from my purse, and needed to make a quick escape, I would still have money.

Strangely, it never occurred to me that things could get bad enough that I would be separated from my underpants (and thankfully, I never needed that money).

I don't really have a "mad money" lifestyle anymore, so I don't do that anymore.

That made me laugh. My 18mo

That made me laugh. My 18mo old doesn't hide things in her diaper but she does like to stick her hand down the back of her diaper.

LOL I have seen many kids do that, apparently its normal haha. My three year old decided she wanted a keychain doggie at the store and after I said no..she stuck in down her shirt while I was paying for everything else. After we got in the car and I found her hidden treasure I took her back into the store and made her tell the manager what she did and say sorry..She was crying by the time she was finished but I havent had her do that again :)
