I am a single mother of a baby boy who just turned 1 this past Sunday. For his first year I really did not go out much or did anything for myself. Now that he is a little bit older I feel comfortable going out with my husband or my girlfriends perhaps once a week or so. I have a great day time M-F 9-5 baby sitter.However, I need a baby sitter to watch my son on a firday night or something. Does anyone have any suggestions where I could find one...or perhaps have a great baby sitter they could refer.

There are a couple of options. You can look to see if there is anyone reliable in your neighborhood (maybe a college student.) Or another option - which I have used in the past - is calling Arizona Lullaby Guild. It is a sitter service, they do background checks, fingerprinting, reference checks, etc. They can get someone to you within 1 hour too. They run anywhere from $10-$12 hour pending childs age and number of children and then there is a $6-$7 travel fee. If you are only going out for a few hours - it is so worth it. They dont have a website, but you can call and talk to the owner she's really friendly. Good luck with all that.
