Good W. Valley childcare?

Teraysa's picture

I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of a good childcare provider in the west valley. I live at 107th ave and Indian School and it seems the few providers in this area will only take 1yr olds and up. (My daughter is 6mos old)

I'm also wondering what your personal preferences are for childcare (daycare vs. in home, etc) and why. I know each has their pros and cons but being knew at this-I have no idea where to start.

I am not sure about any

I am not sure about any providers around your area as I live in the north valley. But I have tried both and in home provider and a regular daycare. My first was the in home and my daughter loved it, the only reason I took her out was because I cut back my hours to attempt to be home more often, then later on I tried an regular daycare and my daughter didn't enjoy. At frist she was nervous and scared then for about 2 weeks she was fine then she was back to crying every time I dropped her off and she was interacting with the other children so I finally took her out and she went stayed with family while I worked. Now I am about to leave my job to stay home with her and watch a few other children out of my home.

So both have there ups and downs. I think with an in home provider the children feel more at home and get more one on one attention. So research both and find out whats best for you.

I cant tell you my

I cant tell you my experience with daycare but i can with in home care. I have been very lucky with in home care.
When we lived in SanDiego our middle daughter went to in home daycare and she loved it. All the kids called the lady that took care of them Momma Martha she was the best.
Our 4 month old has been in home day care for one month and we are very happy with the care he is getting. By the time i drop him off at 8:45 am there are other little ones there already and they are all happy go lucky. There was one morning that was really cute because all the kids were having a Monday (Yes, just like us adults) no one was talking or playing. Some were lying on the floor, others on the couch or the play room no one said goodmorning when i walked in they were just having a bad day. Other times when i drop off our son the kids are always playing interacting with one another and when the baby comes they all go say hi to him. She has an open door policy you can come by any time of day you like or call to check up on your little one. I picked him up early the other day he was sound asleep and the other kids were playing quietly or as quietly as 1 to 5 year old's can be and it didn't bother him at all. It is nice to walk into an eviornment where the kids are happy and always clean.

The daycare is run by two sisters who have kids of there own and you can tell they love what they are doing. I belive they take little ones starting at 6 weeks old. Some of the kids have been with them for years and the parents i have met love the care being provided. They are in the W. Valley off of Estrella parkway in Goodyear.
