You can try craigs list. I'm not sure if any of them are licensed though. I was on there yesterday checking out childcare for summer.

My neighbor is using an au
My neighbor is using an au pair service. I am not sure if my spelling is correct but these are nannies that come from Europe. I know they are happy with the nanny that was sent.
I would also try an au pair.
I would also try an au pair. I did an article on a company called au pair care, and it seemed really great and affordable. You should check it out.

I was a nanny for a family
I was a nanny for a family in Paradise Valley for three years, four days per week (I worked my real job 3, 12 hr days). When my real job's hours changed for a few months, I had to quit the nanny job temporarily. The family tried an Au Pair from Germany for 4 months. They called her "Scary Poppins" and were overjoyed when I came back. They said that the different culture caused problems, because the nanny did things the way they were done in her country. She wouldn't read to the baby (12 months old), because she didn't think that baby was paying attention. She watched the kids, but she didn't engage them, connect with them emotionally, or relate to them as equal people. She treated the kids well, but at a distance. I think that if I tried an au pair, I would definitely go for one from a country that was known for being emotionally expressive...Spain or Italy...those ingrained mannerisms are hard to shake.
