I moved to Glendale about 5 months ago. I have a three year old boy and a one year old boy. I started doing day care about 2 1/2 years ago when I first moved to Phoenix. I got a job right before we moved to Glendale so I stopped doing day care. Some things happend at the job I was working at so I quit. My little boys are lonely so I wanted to start up again but I am at a loss. I have no idea where I should advertise or anything. I am registered with Child Care Resorce and Referral and all, but it isn't enough.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Some supermarkets have
Some supermarkets have boards you can place an ad on.
You can make a sign with phone number tags people can rip off to call you. Hang them on the mailbox. I don't know if that's allowed, but people do it!
Print up your own ads and walk them around the neighborhood putting them in doors.
Check the price of Glendale's local paper and if affordable, put a small ad in there.
Teachers are always looking for day care for their kids near where they work. Try asking if you can put an ad up at the schools in your neighborhood.

I lived in an apartment before in Tempe. It was easy there because I put up signs in the mail rooms and laundry rooms and I got enough responses like that...I will give it a try.

I'm starting again too,
I'm starting again too, after a very brief bout of working outside the home. I am having a really hard time getting in the groove of things again. I am using Craigslist to advertise, I am getting a good response from that. The people that I have spoken with seem quite normal. LOL The kids I am watching now are great, we just need a few more friends to play with. : (

I live out in Surprise, I
I live out in Surprise, I recently got laid off from work and I have a 17 month old daughter. My husband wants me to stay home with her but we can't make it on one income. I know how hard it is to find someone to trust with your child. Being a first time mom I am insane when it comes to someone watching my daughter. So the question is.....does anyone need daycare out in Surprise? I don't want to do a lot of advertising mostly word of mouth. I know I would never go off of a sign on a street corner myself.......just putting my feelers out there to see if there is any need for a in home daycare.

I don't know anyone out in Surprise that needs any day care. I don't get that many calls through CCR&R, maybe you should give that a shot....it seems like you get just enough. If you don't want to do that....I would post on here, considering there are people all over the place that need providers....it might be worth a shot. Good luck. In addition to craigslist I would also try posting an ad on www.backpage.com. There's another moms only web site for Phoenix - www.mamasource.com. You could put the word out on that sight too.
