Well, that was fun! I just tried to register for some summer courses at the community college to learn an extra thing or two for work. I originally got an AA from Mesa Community College, way back when and I've lived in AZ for 20 years. Yet, in order to get in state tuition rates, I must dig through my files for my birth certificate and trek down to the school to show proof of citizenship! I could fax it, but then I have also locate the affidavid on the web site and complete it too. They apparently, have no way of verifying my citizenship otherwise. Ugh!

Couldn't you just show them your passport?

Couldn't a SSN card work? I think what you need for employment is SSN card and drivers license to prove citizenship.

Yes, those documents will

Yes, those documents will work. I'm just being a baby. I wanted to register on line and be done with it. Afterall, the class is online too. I just couldn't believe that the school wouldn't accept my MCC and ASU records as proof. But, I suppose that I never had to produce a birth certificate all those years ago and simply provided records from high school. I just hate red tape! (esp after an hour with their convenient online reg web site that didn't work!)
