We are moving from Waukesha, Wisconsin to Phoenix and my children will be attending Boulder Creek Elementary in Phoenix. I have two sons. One will be in 2nd Grade, the other Kindergarten. My little guy starting Kindergarten has Autism. I am hoping to get some feedback from the expert-mom's out there who can tell me about the special education program and special education teachers at this school. In particular the program for children with Autism. My husband and I, as well as the two boys, are very, very excited to be moving to Arizona. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hi Jodi! Welcome to Phoenix! Unfortunately I don't know anything about Boulder Creek, although we do live very close to it! I think it's a pretty good school, however. We're in the area of Quail Run Elementary.

It's an "excelling" school
It's an "excelling" school by the Arizona department of educations standards which is the highest rank a school can receive. Hopefully that will mean something.

Hi Jodi, I think your talking about the Boulder Creek in the PV school district. If so I have 2 boys who are both on the spectrum who go to a different school in that district. I observed the autism room 2 years ago when I was deciding where to have my 5 year old go. The room I observed had very low functioning kids in it but they were very well staffed and room was fun without being overstimulating. The teacher was very nice as well. I decided to go with a mainstream classroom with a one on one aide and I had no problem getting that for him. As a matter of fact I have been very successful getting everything I have asked for from the district. Since the time I did the observation I know that they have developed a program for higher functioning kids I just don't know what school that program is at it might be BC.
