Well my son had a wonderful first day of school. His teacher says he is a bright little boy. She did say he needs to work on lining up. I thought, okay, well for one it is his first day of school ever. If lining up is his only problem, well gee that is pretty great! LOL...how was everyone else's children at their first day of school?

My daughter said that she
My daughter said that she had fun. That her teacher was really nice. The only thing she didn't like was the lunch. She said "it was nasty". The teacher said she did good for her first day.

I don't remember if it was
I don't remember if it was kindergarten (Mrs. Gentry) or 1st grade (Mrs. Dancer), but I remember that getting in and staying in line had to do with keeping an eye on the nape of the neck of the boy or girl in front of you.
That, and Cindy Coates admonishing me for rushing into line for lunch one day and getting there ahead of her: "That's not the Christmas spirit."
I still think that holding hands is a whole lot better.
My oldest child went to
My oldest child went to kindergarten yesterday! He enjoyed his day and excitedly told me all about his day until.... he said he went to time out! TIME OUT on his first day of kindergarten! Oh boy! I can only imagine what the next few days, months, and years of his education will bring.

Aw, well, somebody had to
Aw, well, somebody had to get into trouble. What on earth did he do?
He was being his active,
He was being his active, energetic self and karate chopping his arms to get the teacher's attention to go to the bathroom instead of just raising his hand. Probably it was more for safety of other children. Day 2 and 3 have been no time outs so it made an impression on him, which he definitely needed. What was incredibly hysterical to my husband and I was that we actually asked each other how long we thought it would take before he got into time out. I was overly optimistic and said two weeks. My husband; however, said 1 hour. Looks like he right! He is actually a very sweet child, just still learning how his body should behave correctly in situations. In other words, a typical kindergartner! I later learned from the teacher that if there is not a note sent home, then it was not really bad at all. Whew!

We're laughing with you, but
We're laughing with you, but DP wants to know if he got to go to the boys' room before time out ???
WoW ! My youngest went off
WoW !
My youngest went off to kindergarten Monday and all she said was "bye mom! miss me!" With that glowing face and angelic eye sparkling as she grasped her Hanna Montana backpack at the shoulders. This was my baby! (I have 3 children) and she did not even cry or want to go back home with me. Needless to say she is having the best time being a big girl riding the big school bus with big sis and big bro out here in Tolleson. I love that and yet it saddens me all at the same time. Why?
