I am so excited to read that
I am so excited to read that you are interested in homeschooling your most beloved treasures....your child(ren). I began homeschooling, or at least I thought, when my son entered the 3rd grade at a Christian school. What I didn't realize and what was made evident to me later is that we parents are teaching and instructing our children on a daily basis. Whether we are reading to them, teaching them colors and numbers or going to a farm to see animals or pick corn we are schooling them. If you look at each day in and of itself we are instructing. So at preschool level I am sure you are already teaching colors and numbers, naming animals, doing puzzles, recognizing shapes, etc. When you are baking or cooking, get them involved and ask them "where does an egg come from." or "what sound does (this animal ) make?" At traffic lights the child may be able to identiify colors and what they mean. Most importantly....HAVE FUN!
What values we choose to instill in our children today will last for their lifetime.
