Thank you for the info. I had become so frustrated because there was no kind of support group out there for spina bifida families that I contacted them.
I am very passionate about this and after meeting with their board of directors we will have our first support group meeting the third Wednsday in April. It will be at the AZ Spina Bifida Office 1001 East Fairmount (crossroads 7th st. just south of Indian school) at 7:00 p.m. Contact person is Michelle Miller @ 623-533-4615 and for spanish speaking contact Dolores Herrera @ 602-242-4386.
I would love to connect with families for playdates. Because my grandaughter is with us when mom and dad are working she doesnt get to play with other kids. This is something very improtant for her development.
Thank you so much for caring enough to respond.

Hi Michelle. My name is
Hi Michelle.
My name is Traci. I have a 2 year old daughter with spina bifida. I'd love to get in touch with you. I've been considering starting a support group for spina bifida here in the valley, and more specifically the east valley where I live. There are a handful of spina bifida kids out here and I feel there just isn't enough. I feel there really isn't enough in the entire state for that matter. There's a lot to do for older kids as far as camps go and those sort of things but I feel the younger ones need things too. They can't participate in normal playgroups and such. I hope to hear back from you soon. It seems like right when I'm ready to start something my daughter decides it's time to get sick and be hospitalized =). These kids really are special angels. It's a blessing in disguise to be able to be a mother to such a sweet little girl and I"m sure you feel the same about being a grandma to such a sweety =)
