Boot Camp

So today I was experiencing the following symptoms, nausea, extreme fatigue, dizziness, numbness of my lower extremities, shortness of breath, elevated heart rate and headache. I could taste spaghetti coming up. I knew something was not right. I was about to cry out for someone, anyone to call 911. I took a deep breath and looked around. Satan just kept on jogging with a smile on her face. How could she be so happy, I was going to pass out. “One more lap!” she said cheering me on. I get back into the aerobics room thinking Boot Camp was almost over…..we were only fifteen minutes into the class.

This was my first day in Fitness Boot Camp. When I signed up for the class it sounded perfect for me. An easy way to tone up and get back into shape. I used to run and run and never was short on breath. I am flexible and was always able to keep up in gym even if it was ten to twelve years ago. Boy, did I just want to jog right out of that gym. I was half tempted to. But the instructor (formerly known as Satan) was nice and supportive. It was only an hour and I had to do it. The person next to me was twice my size and running faster. I could not believe how out of shape I am. That is all about to change. The class was a mix of cardio, kick boxing, step, weights and was intense.

I hung in there and finished the class. It was awesome and now I feel great. I cannot wait for my next class on Wednesday. I have learned that you weight has nothing to do with how in shape you are. A bigger person can be in better shape than a smaller person. I am not even close to being overweight and was struggling so much. The first half hour kicked my butt but towards the end I felt great.

This is too funny - I just started going to the gym last week and I saw plenty of people two and three times my size jamming through their workouts while I was huffing and puffing. You're so right about size not being the thing that matters!

Where is this? Does anyone

Where is this? Does anyone recommend a gym on the East Valley (east of Power & Guadalupe) that is not too expensive and new-user friendly?

I currently run 5 days a week (6 miles or so) but I know I need to mix it up before I burn out my knees, hips, or something else with all that impact! Plus I'd love to get out there and meet more people! Running is great to reflect, but it is a little too much solitude!

I go to the Red Mountain MultiGen Center on Power and Adobe. I am a pretty good runner but this is kicked way up. I forgot to include we also did this sit up excerise with a partner and 7 lb medicine ball. I have only used a 5 lb medicine ball and not in the way.
