The book club I belong to is looking for suggested/recommended books to read for the upcoming months. We are a fun group of ladies that really get together for the social aspect (to be honest), but really enjoy discussing a good book during our dinners. Any ideas of what has been a 'hit' lately in the book world?

I like anything by Nicholas
I like anything by Nicholas Sparks, great author!!
My book group just read
My book group just read "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Great, funny, uplifting book!
Next month we're reading "One Hundred Years of Solitude" By Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I read this one in college and remember liking it. I'm looking forward to reading it again. (Better get started soon! :0)
If you're interested in some juicy non-fiction, (that may make you angry) read "Pushed: The Painful Truth about Childbirth and Modern Maternity Care" by Jennifer Block. I think every woman of childbearing age in America should read this book!

If you're doing it for
If you're doing it for social reasons, which is usually the case ;) I reccomend some light reading like Burnt Toast or Nanny Diaries or I just read something called Keys to the Kingdom which was a very enlightning read about men, although you might have to order that book used on ebay or amazon.com or something.

Next up are A Thousand Splendid Suns by the author of the Kite Runner and A Trip to the Beach.
