Hot Air Ballooning Anyone???

MiriamVS's picture
in

I see hot air balloons all the time --- and from down here it looks like fun! But I wonder if it really is that exciting to ride in the balloon, also how safe is it? Does it cost much? Is it worth the price?

Any response from those who've tried it would be much appreciated! Thanks

It's an amazing experience

It's an amazing experience (keep in mind, though, that I am still amazed at flying over an ocean in a 747). However, I think that the best value -- and probably the safest option -- is to wait until there is a hot air balloon event. If there is a snag of any sort, there's a veritable saturation of chasers (ground crews) available to help. The festivals also vett their participants. While the odds of ending up in an unsafe situation are very low, it's nice to have the added security, so that you can really enjoy the experience.

I took my husband to Sedona

I took my husband to Sedona some years ago for his birthday. I surprised him with a hot air ballon ride. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful, although our landing was a little bumpy(funny now when we think about it!) It is kind of pricey, but many also include a champagne brunch, ours was next to a beautiful stream as the sun was coming up. I can't remember exactly what it could, but I think it was a couple hundred dollars. I wouldn't do it in Phoenix, not nearly as pretty as red rock country.

Ballooniful, I think we all

Ballooniful, I think we all get how you want to help your uncle in this venture, and we all admire your efforts. One day, you'll be a great sales person and spokesperson. Hopefully, you also understand that there are some of us who don't respect adults who ask kids to -- or let kids -- put themselves in the limelight so that the adults can draw business or make money.

Please edit your post and get rid of your email address ASAP. A 12 year-old girl should never post her email address in a public forum. As it's a COX account, your parents should be able to dispose of it, and get you a new one.

Mom's. I really don't think this is a 12 year-old girl. First, 12 year-old girls never identify themselves as "12 year-old girls"; at that age, they identify by grade. The 12 year-old girls who might be able to describe the experience of a hot-air balloon ride (outside, of "cool") would be a lot more specific about the things they saw -- rather than talk about deserts, cities and homes. Certainly, if there was a package that included the kid getting a "ceremony and certificate", that'd have to be in the package you signed your kid up for, right?

I do appreciate the ballooning info, but PLEASE do not EVER advertise on a public site your age or email address! My stomach did a flip when I read 'I'm a 12 year old girl and here's my email' --- thinking of all the horrible things that can happen.

Trust me, there are lots of people out there who are just searching for such kids to exploit. So keep your personal info to yourself --- for your own good!
