VOICES TAKE FLIGHT CONCERT TO LIFT AND INSPIRE THE VALLEY COMMUNITY

The public is invited to attend the Voices Take Flight Concert on Saturday, March 8th at the Youth Pavilion at Phoenix First Assembly in Phoenix from 2-4:30pm. This patriotic and community-focused concert event features the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Cadet Glee Club, the Phoenix Boys Choir, Dr. Jesse McGuire, Chelsea Canales, newly crowned Miss America, Kirsten Haglund and other special guests.

This is a first class production in support of the nonprofit organization Voices Take Flight, which is devoted to promoting and recognizing service before self and heightening awareness of neurological diseases in an effort to find cures.

Each year, a choral concert featuring a different U.S. Military Service Academy choir is invited to perform in the Valley. The particular Service Academy choir travels to Phoenix, Arizona and along with a civilian choir performs in a two hour patriotic uplifting "concert like no other," with short vignettes about service and community between sets.

Voices Take Flight commissioned the SCHOW-DONNELLY Award as a national award given each year to a military veteran and civilian for exemplary service before self to the nation and the community they serve. This year, local celebrity, national trumpeter and Minister, Dr. Jesse McGuire will be honored for his tireless campaign in support of numerous charitable causes. His music is an inspiration to all who hear it. James Peterson, a U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Survival Technician and Helicopter Rescue Swimmer will also be honored. One of his most dangerous rescues involved a life saving mission off the North Carolina Coast of Brian Udell, a local Litchfield Park man. Elements of James’ occupation were also portrayed in the 2006 movie “The Guardian” starring Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Costner.

For tickets, go to: www.VTF.org or call 480-831-0558 and please note the venue location has changed: Phoenix First Assembly YOUTH PAVILLION 13613 North Cave Creek Road Phoenix, AZ 85022.

Tickets are $10 per person if paid online at www.vtf.org before February 29, 2008. After that, tickets will be $20 per person from March 1-8th

Tickets will be also sold at the door the day of the concert.

Thanks for the info. I usually cry thought patriotic performances, but I love them.

Now, I am curious, who is in your avatar if you are "not a mom?" It seems like two adults and three children, but it is hard to say for sure.
