So this past weekend we went to the drive in's. It seems funner every time we go. It's such a good deal too. $6.25 for each adult and kids 11 and under free. Last time we went we saw Horton Hears a Hoo, the kids fell asleep after and we dashed over to another screen to watch a pg-13 movie. This past weekend we watched Nims Island and Forbidden Kingdom. Both were good, what was even better was the weather and the kids having a blast in the back of the truck with an air mattress and blankets. We bring dinner and snacks so we only pay the admission for mom and dad for two shows. The only thing I don't like actually hate is the bathrooms. They are gross. Besides that it's a blast, it gets pretty busy but I would expect to see even more familes there. If you haven't been for awhile you should head down while the weather is still nice at night.

What a great idea. You are so right about the weather right now. School is almost out and that sounds like a fun thing to do. We have talked about it in the past, but somehow just don't seem to get past the planning stages. I am going to make sure we get this done soon. Thanks!!

I didn't realize that
I didn't realize that Drive-Ins still existed!!! They've been gone from the Washington, DC area for decades.
Some of my best childhood memories are of being piled in the station wagon (remember those?) with my brother and sister, eating Mary Janes and BB Bats at the drive in. We saw the first "Herbie the Love Bug" move there, along with this truly bizarre movie called "Boatnicks." I don't think anyone else in the world remembers that film, but when I get together with my brother and sister, we have clear memories and laugh about it!
Sounds fun I need to get out
Sounds fun I need to get out to one. It's been forever since the last one I went to.
Wow, the last time I even
Wow, the last time I even thought about a drive-in was when Andy Rice suggested we go see "Closed for the season".
Yes, we love the drive
Yes, we love the drive in...
We pack up the truck with blankets, pilliows, favorite snacks...it is a wonderful time!
I haven't been to a drive-in
I haven't been to a drive-in since my husband and were dating. We had a truck and a drunk woman tried to climb in with us. I would love to take my kid, but everytime I think of it the weather is too hot by then.
