Gone Baby Gone

Yes, yes...I saw it last weekend! My MIL couldn't wait for me to watch it so she could talk to someone about it. My husband watched it before me....and he loved it as well.I cried a lot through the movie.Casey did a wonderful job.....and Ben should stick to directing because...WOW!
I debated to myself and others for a while on what should of happened and in the end I agree with Casey.You know the old saying two wrongs don't make a right.And the way the captian went about this was wrong, even though in my heart I was like Oh, she will have a wonderful life.And the mom could care less...so why shouldn't she be with someone who cares...
But Casey was hired by the Aunt to find her....and it would be wrong for the Aunt to go the rest of her life thinking she was dead....
My husband was a little tweaked at the girlfriend for leaving...but she warned him...and she also didn't want to take the case.....I am not sure I would of left him....but my heart can follow why.So what was your take?

I just recently saw this too. I thought the movie was good but not Oscar worthy.

Sad thing is, there are mothers just like this loser mom all over the country. They put their kids last, behind their druggie loser lifestyle. I do not think she deserved to get the child back and Casey Affleck's character was wondering if he had made the right decision in the last scene of the movie.

If my daughter disappeared and I was fortunate enough to be re-united with her, I would NEVER let her out of my sight again.

Such a good movie. It's one of those movies that is so utterly disturbing, it leaves you silent for a while after in order to just absorb what just happened. You are so very disturbed, yet you want others to see it, which cracks me up! Casey Affleck is a wonderful actor and to be placed in that situation, handles it the only way he could. The right thing to do is to return the girl. Morgan Freeman was not evil, but he was so very wrong. Although the girl's mother was a drug addict, she should have been given the opportunity to get straight and be a mother. From there, if the mother doesn't stay straight, then either the aunt should get custody or perhaps foster care if need be. But because all that went down was NOT made public...especially the mother putting the child into such danger with the drug deal she took her on, she probably would have lost custody and gone to jail from that alone! It was so sad that Casey had to live with the fact that he returned her to that PIG mom. But, Morgan Freeman tried to play God, and that's not right.
Good actors, good movie!
