Has anyone else noticed the large number of inappropriate commercials on during television shows that are family-friendly? The most recent occasions that come to mind are when we were watching a funniest videos show and a football game. Both were on before 7pm, yet the commercials during the shows had depictions of bloody violence between people that were from other shows that can't be seen before 9pm, or were commercials for cable shows even though what we were watching was on network tv. I think the commercials should have to meet the same standards as the show.

Agreed! Why do my kids need to learn about erectile dysfunction or be asked if "when you turn your car on, does it return the favor?" when just trying to watch a show or a football game? Our mute button has been used so much it doesn't work anymore. Arg!
I am constantly amazed by
I am constantly amazed by what they allow commercials to show or say these days. I have a 13 year old who is still pretty innocent and when he doesn't understand one of these commercials he asks me to explain. While I do explain what they mean by "does your car return the favor" I don't think I should have to because of a commercial!
I am shocked at those Girls Gone Wild commercials! They may not be shown on the "regular" channels, but they're so graphic! My husband likes to watch UFC fights on Spike TV and I do let my 13 year old watch the fights with his dad, but when those commercials come on I cringe inside. My son turns away, I think they embarass him!
