For my daughter and I, television time is the time at night, before bed, when we sit quietly, cuddle and tone down before bed. It's an important time for us to reconnect, as well as it gives up both a chance to get centered before bedtime.
Often we have a hard time agreeing what to watch. As my seven year old gets older, it gets easier. We just found another show we can agree on: John and Kate Plus 8. It's really charming.
Have you seen it? What shows do you watch with your kids?

My daughter (5 and a half)
My daughter (5 and a half) is mesmerized by Jon & Kate Plus 8, she loves it as do I too!! She loves when there is a marathon of shows on as she can watch 2 espisodes back to back!!
My daughter and I also enjoy watching Little People Big World together and one show that she absolutely loves is the Animal Police shows that are on Animal Planet!! She loves animals and she says she's going to be an "animal doctor" when she grows up so she absolutely loves watching these shows.
Other one's she likes which I was quite surprised and I like too are the "Flip that House" on TLC. We also like the pregnancy shows on Discovery Health, she loves babies so she loves seeing those shows.
I love that show. My 6 year
I love that show. My 6 year old loves the kid version of that show where they redecorate a room in each others house. We also like little people big world and supernanny. We also use TV at the end of the day to cuddle and wind down. One time my son and I were watching a show called "Toddler Trouble" It was a show about different families dealing with toddler issues. Well I left the room to grab some laundry and I come in and they were showing childbirth up close and personal! I thought the show was suppose to be about Toddlers. Anyway that is how my 6 year old son found out how babies come out. He still has not asked how they are created!
We love Jon and Kate! My
We love Jon and Kate! My daughter is only 6 months old so she doesn't watch it but her eyes are really almond shape so we call her "Little Gosselin". My husband and I are addicated to it, it's so us!
I love that show...my
I love that show...my husband on the other hand-not really. But I find it funny at how much alike we are to JnK, in terms of how they handle things, talk to each other, etc. It's kinda weird to sometimes being watching them and seeing yourself-makes me realize there are things I need to change.
When I was pregnant with our first we had just moved and I wasn't working...and I was obviously so excited...and I spent some of my time watching the 'baby shows'. My husband thought it was funny. He'd call and be like "Are you watching your baby shows?". I have noticed now that I am resorting back to some of those (as I noted in a blog earlier) because I am eager to get pregnant, but have a to wait a bit longer than expected.
I am also, a big fan of animal shows. I must say Cesar Milan (The dog whisperer) is my favorite. I have begun to apply those techniques to my two dogs, and have noticed a great change.
My son is only 1 so there's not much he's 'into', though we discovered that Clifford and SuperWhy are on in the am on PBS. So, if we're around I'll turn it on, and he enjoys the music and the characters.
I actually just watch
I actually just watch whatever my girls want to watch when we watch TV together. I just enjoy sitting and relaxing with them.
There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one!
My daughter and I love John
My daughter and I love John and Kate plus 8. They had a Q & A episode on the other night and someone asked them why neither of John or Kate's parents were ever on the show. I hadnt thought about that, but they really have never been on, except for John's father, very early on, but he passed away shortly after, they explained. Nana Janet comes and folds clothes, and she has friends and a SIL that watch the kiddos for them, but no grandparents, sort of sad. The grandparents are really missing out. John and Kate explained that their parents just arent that invloved, by their own choice (the grandparents choice, that is).

I love this show. That's sad
I love this show. That's sad about the absent grandparents. Jon and Kate are doing a great job though. My kids have no interest in this show though. Our other favorites are Ice Road Truckers (please don't ask why) and Keeping up with the Kardashians. I love all wedding, home and food network shows too. I usually enjoy one of these shows when the kids are in bed.
