What about American Idol, So you think you can dance, Oprah's Big Give, or Extreme Home Makeover? I like them and they are definately milder than ANTM. I also used to LOVE Gilmore Girls. You can rent all the seasons on DVD.

My daughter and I like "Little People Big World", "John & Kate Plus 8" and "Flip that House" all are on TLC. Also, on the Animal Planet Channel the "Escape to Chimp Eden" and "Animal Cops". Also we enjoy various shows on the cooking channel. She loves Rachel Ray and Emerald so those are always a hit too. Full House is fun to watch together too when we can catch it. I used to love that show as a kid and she loves it. I've bought 1-3 seasons on DVD and we like to watch those together.

My daughter loves watching "Frasier" reruns with me. I know it's odd, but she started after she couldn't sleep and my husband and I let her come to our room. Since the show plays at 9 p.m., when my angel should be sleeping, I've bought several seasons on DVD, so we can watch earlier - after homework and without commercials. I picked up season 8 at Target today because it was $18.

She's enjoyed "American Idol" at times, but lately it seems I've been watching iCarly with her.
