he was on the go carts and the steering wheel did not turn the cart on the curve,he hit the sidewall. the seatbelt sliced open his neck, the drs said he was extremely lucky the cut was very deep, he also knocked a tooth loose.

=( that is sad to hear, I have gone to amazing jakes a few times and it always seemed like they didn't worry enough about safety. I hope the boys parents do something to see about amazing jakes taking care of him and the go carts.
A younger girl cousin of mine had her own go cart and rolled it a few years ago and sadly she didn't make it and it was a big deal for the family.
Go carts aren't really that safe at any time, I rode in a few and one time I knocked my head pretty hard against one of the top guard rails and I couldn't even finish all the laps everyone else was doing I pulled off and stopped early.
Did you know the boy personally or are you hearing news from another source?
I just think the place is
I just think the place is WAAY too big and waaaaay too crowded that it is easy for kids to be separated (from either parents OR their friends)...also, the food buffet doesn't seem entirely hygenic/sterile/clean to me.

That place is way too big
That place is way too big and crowded for me. I tried to take both my kids there once - the youngest had just turned 2 and oldest was 6 - and it was impossible to feel like both were safe because there were too many places they could go and only one of me.
i won't try it again unless i've just got one kid, or my husband is with me.
