I caught Tempe band Seconds to Breathe at Changing Hands bookstore this summer. They were part of the Harry Potter book release party. I really liked the band's music, so I bought its CD.
The group is playing their "2nd Annual Christmas Show" this Saturday (Dec. 15). It's part of a holiday canned food drive, too. Kids 10 and older will probably do OK at this show, but it really seems suited for teens and older. It's loud and little ones do get bored.
The group will be playing Christmas music, acoustic songs and some new songs. You can check out their My Space page by clicking here.
The band is giving $2 off admission for bringing 2 cans of food. In an email, bandmember Nate wrote: "If you bring 10 cans, you will receive a free STB Acoustic CD. Our goal is to bring 200 cans...so everyone please do your part!"
The door price is $10. The show starts at 7 p.m. and is at The Clubhouse Music Venue, 1320 E. Broadway Road, Tempe.
I asked if it was kid friendly. They attracted families at the Harry Potter party. Nate, one of the band members, said he's seen kids 10 and older come to sets with their parents. The venue will be split for 21 and over and under 21. He suggests ear plugs for younger listeners.
