I can't get Miley Cyrus music out of my head

My kids have had the Hannah Montana2/Meet Miley Cyrus CD since last summer. It's not like I'm hearing it more, but suddenly I have these songs - along with Aly & AJ - stuck in my head. I caught myself humming to one just now, and thought, 'How embarrassing is that??'

I guess it could be worse...my son for a while listened to a song called Crazy Frog - an Axl Foley/Beverly Hills Cop highly sampled song that is on one of those Radio Disney compilations...just thinking about it now put it in my head.

Does this happen to other moms? I don't recall this really happening when they listened to kiddie songs....ok, maybe a little with the Wiggles. Never Barney songs, though.

I'm thinking of playing more of my own music in the car and at home. Sheryl Crow, maybe, or old school Pat Benatar and Heart. Ha! I should get out some old metal music...or not.

my husband and i had a

my husband and i had a specific plan as how to combat teenie bopper music. starting when the kids were babies, we continued to listen to the music we liked (alternative and rock). Our kids have grown up listening to the same stuff we do and now they are older, they have branched out a bit. But we are proud to say they both have a great distaste for Britany Spears. Goal Achieved!

I thought that I was the only one....
that suffered from Kiddie songs. For some strange reason, the last song that is playing in the car before I get out is the song that will stick with me all day long. So there have been several times that I will catch myself humming "the wheels on the bus", I know LOL!! But my children enjoy listenening to other songs as well, they especially like the older songs like for instance my son has "8675309" stuck in his head along with "Jesse's girl"...and he is only 3. But I say expose them to other genres of music!! Just don't become one of those mom's that constantly has it on oldies that your child/ren refuse to ride in the same vehicle as you. LOL!!

I know what you mean, we

I know what you mean, we have a DVD player in the car, so I am constantly hearing show tunes in my head..The Lion King, Wizard of Oz, alot of Disney themes. I don't even know what is popular anymore. LOL..I guess I will slowly get back in the loop as she gets older.

Hopefully my husband and I

Hopefully my husband and I can avoid teen bop music!! We continue to listen to what we like...approriate for little ears of course (no cussing). But we have also found different renditions of our music done for children. We have found nirvana, radiohead, and U2 lullaby's!!! When we are putting her to sleep at night we can sing along!!

Glad I'm not alone...and

Glad I'm not alone...and yep...it's in my head again today. My daughter put it on. I pulled the lyrics....maybe you moms have heard the song, "See You Again."

I got my sight set on you
And I'm realy to aim ...
The last time I freaked out
I just kept lookin' down
I st-st-stuttered when you
Asked me what I'm thinkin 'bout
Felt like I couldn't breathe
You asked what's wrong with me
My best friend Leslie said,
"Oh she's just being Miley"
The next time we hang out
I will redeem myself
My heart, it can rest 'till then
Oh woah woah I, I can't wait to see you again

so bubblegum... But it's obviously seeped into my head.

We made a CD for the car of

We made a CD for the car of songs the whole family likes, and it's made raod trips much nicer. My kids do still sometimes ask, "How come they don't say Yeah!" anymore, since we don't to the Kids Bop versions!
